PR consultant, crisis/risk management & communications, free lance writer, self-proclaimed humorist & aspiring author. And former cool guy with very sharp TR-4.
An unrepentant liberal, child of the 60s, I've done an absolutely terrible job of hiding that from corporate America for over 30 years. (A CEO I once worked for used to introduce me as his house liberal, which pissed off the head of R&D because he claimed to be a liberal too--he just wasn't a loud-mouthed, young Turk, "whaddayagonnado, fire me" type.)
But I did bite my tongue more often than anyone would believe, and now that I'm in semi-retirement, I don't have to do that anymore. Hence this blog.
Robert Kennedy once said, "Some people see things and ask, 'why'?" I see things and ask 'why not'?" (He may not have said it exactly like that--sue me.) I say, "I see things and say, 'what the fuck?' (Can I say "fuck?" Oh well, we'll find out.)
However, Bob Dylan once wrote, "But I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." I grow younger and more confused with every passing day.
The confusion isn't necessary a bad thing...unless it's the onset of dementia...because with confusion comes a growing measure of wisdom.
Also, I refuse to let the bastards get me down. There is so much in life to enjoy and celebrate; and yet so many never have the chance to experience it.
So, after almost 30 years in public relations, rising to a height no one every would have predicted--especially my mother--I'm saying fare thee well to it. I'll do some free lance consulting and writing, but I'm going to spend most of my time returning to my first love: writing, both fiction and non-fiction. You may never see my fiction (satirical) in print--but I'm having a ball writing it.
P.S. I'm working on a serious-type web site, which, if it's ever done, will be linked to this little room where I can say whatever I please.
