So, the president wants 80 billion more for Iraq. O.k., given that we don't have a clue what we're doing there, how to fix it, and how to get out, the military probably does need more money. Hell, the troops at least should have armored vehicles and body armor.
But the cute part is that this mere 80 billion won't show up as part of the deficit. Nor will any increased costs for the Bush social security solution.
If you think about it, it's a brilliant way to balance the budget, and I for one, think the president deserves a round of applause. (Hear anything?) If you don't put costs into a budget, you can't be accused of overspending. No wonder he crushed Kerry. (He did, didn't he? After all, he has a mandate.)
Now if I can only figure out how to do that with our family budget...not sure how, but there's got to be a way.
Wait...I thought I heard a discouraging word from a Democrat. Nah, must have been the wind. Never mind. Well, good luck with balancing your own budget.
