Let's face it, this site ain't attracting thousands of visitors clammoring for more insight & brilliance, challenging me with thought-provoking comments, demanding better humor, etc., etc.
So, I wander among the bleak blog landscape, looking at other sites, focusing on the cute buttons for all the places you should be alerting.
Of course, on those sites, all the buttons are neatly stacked close together; mine look like some drunk got into the button factory and just started flinging them wildly.
So I click on the buttons & enter blog purgatory. Most of them give code that supposedly links my site to to theirs, but they never explain why I'd want to do that, so I have to e-mail every single one of the websites asking what the hell I'm supposed to do to get on their lists. Most respond quickly. Half their advice is useful. Half is incomprehensible tech speak.
It's a good thing I'm not paranoid.
I just realized I've spend over an hour and put two links on my site...and I have no idea what they're for. Sometimes I feel like Kafka's anti-hero in the Castle wandering aimlessly looking for meaning and purpose. Then I barf. "Meaning & purpose." Puleeeze.
What I really want are disputes, arguments, challenges.
If any of my 2 or 3 readers knows how to really increase the right kind of traffic, please let me know.
